Short fixes for the things people ask us about most.
Make sure Location Services are on and Maps Ruler has location permission. On iPhone or iPad, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Maps Ruler and choose While Using the App. You can still search and measure manually without location access.
Open Maps Ruler settings and choose the unit you want. The map result and saved measurement details will use your selected unit.
Select the measurement, then drag a point to move it. Use the undo or delete controls to remove recent points or clear the active measurement.
Open Saved Measurements from the app menu. Measurements are stored on your device unless you explicitly export or share them. Removing the app may remove locally stored records, so export anything important first.
Maps Ruler calculates from the points you place and the map data available to the app. Satellite imagery, GPS accuracy, terrain, zoom level, and point placement can all affect the result. Use a licensed surveyor and official records for legal boundaries or safety-critical decisions.
Check your internet connection, temporarily disable any VPN or content filter, and reopen the app. If the issue continues, email us with your device model, operating system version, app version, and a screenshot.
